An exciting, interactive one-day accredited training course which introduces the core foundations of community organising – genuine, effective listening which sparks conversation and ignites action, an analysis of power in community and why power matters, and an exploration of how to organise and motivate people to take effective action together to address common concerns.
Course learning outcomes:

- • To begin to explore power and power dynamics in communities
- • To appreciate how to motivate people to take action
- • To plan your next steps in community organising
This training is free & lunch is provided. It is run by Community Organisers Ltd in partnership with Octopus Community Network.
It is funded by DCMS as part of the Community Organisers Expansion Programme.
The course trainers are experienced Community Organisers. The course is approved as quality training provision by Certa and as Professional Development by CPD. All participants receive a Certificate of attendance.
This course is part of the national expansion programme for community organising. It is for anyone in Islington with an interest in building stronger communities, motivating people to work together for common goals and mobilising people to take collective action for the common good.
Further one-day courses will be available focusing on practical aspects of community organising, plus courses for those who want to train as fully qualified community organisers
